I received travelers check to cash. how do i know they are legit and legal to cash?

a man from GA sent me some travelers checks to cash and keep 10% and send the rest western union to his company in africa. how do i know these checks are legit and legal and i won%26#039;t be busted for cashing them. is there a way to trace these back to where they came from? does anyone know??

This is an illegal scam that is going on. If you cash them you will be held accountable and prosecuted for it. Just happened to a woman here in Michigan. Turn them all over to your local police department. They will be able to tell you for sure if they are legit.

This is a scam. They will clear your account just long enough for you to wire the money, then %26quot;bounce%26quot;. You will overdraft and owe your bank the money your just wired to the guy in GA.|||They are mostly likely counterfeit or stolen. Take them to your bank and explain the situation - they%26#039;ll handle it. Don%26#039;t try to cash them!!!

This is a situation the FBI or Secret Service may handle - you don%26#039;t want to end up on their bad side.|||I suggest you do not cash the travelers checks if they say they are wanting you to cash them and send them the money received from the cashing of the checks. There is a scheme in progress at this time that is using travelers checks and cashiers checks that they send to you with the promise that you will receive the proceeds from a sweepstake or such that you have won. The problem here is that the checks are all counterfiet and useless. if you cash them and send the money your bank will freeze your account and you could lose any money you have in that account.
